Willie Mays was the first great major league slugger to captivate America’s TV audience with his brilliance at the plate.  During his heyday, the “Say Hey” Kid made it look easy for millions of American kids, who took to the playground with the battle cry: “I’m gonna hit one out of the park just like Willie Mays.”

The two other members of the 600 Home Run Club® LLC – Ken Griffey Jr. and Sammy Sosa, were among the young people worldwide who were inspired to greatness by Willie Mays exploits on national and international TV (remember Sammy grew up in the Dominican Republic).
