Sadaharu Oh in Hall-Of-Fame? Print E-mail

Sadaharu Oh hit more homers (868) than Barry Bond, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays or Reggie Jackson. Despite the fact that major leaguers from Hank Aaron to Tom Seaver to Pete Rose said he would been great in the MLB...he's barred from Cooperstown because he played outside the U.S. Is that fair?

While 868 home runs is impressive, if you allow Oh in the hall of fame, then it will open the door
for players in Japanese leagues of all eras.
Worldwide Recognition

I think it would be appropriate for the Hall of Fame to honor outstanding players from around the
orld. Maybe enshrine three a year for awhile, till we have all the obvious choices? Keep in mind,
not only are there Japanese players who deserve the honor...but a lot of players in the Cuban,
Mexican and Central American leagues.
